| Dr Beg hopes K-issue resolution during Omar govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, May 31 (KNS): Senior National Conference leader and Member Parliament, Dr Mehboob Beg, Tuesday hoped that political resolution of Kashmir issue will emerge during Omar Abdullah led government.
Addressing party workers in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district he said, “It was due to the efforts of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah that Kashmiris achieved right to vote, freedom of expression and land to tiller act was passed.”
Remembering the sacrifices of late Sheikh, he said, it was only due to his hard work that democratic institutions in the state were set up.
Dr Beg said late Sheikh’s dream will be turned into reality by his grandson and present Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Pointing to the recommendations of Justice Sageer report he stressed that Jammu and Kashmir state should be granted pre-53 position which gives special status to it.
