Bandeep, Sahil fashion KCCC’s stylish entry into semis

JAMMU, May 31: Riding on brilliant performances from young cricketers, Bandeep Singh and Sahil Bhalwal, Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) today fashioned a huge win thereby making a stylish entry into the semi-final of the ongoing 2nd Pran Malhotra Memorial Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Becoming first team to reach the last four stages, KCCC humiliated the University of Jammu (JU) side by registering a huge 279 runs win in the quarterfinals.
Earlier, Bandeep Singh hit a magnificent century to power KCCC to highest total of the tournament with 357 runs on board for the loss of eight wickets in allotted 50 overs. Later, honouring the efforts put in by the batsmen, young pacer, Sahil bowled true line and length and bagged five wickets, including one in opening over, thus reduced the opponent to 77 in 19 overs.
Earlier, Bandeep hit JU bowlers at will to make 128 runs off just 105 studded with 12 boundaries and a huge six. Vimarsh Kaw also played well contributing 46-ball 58 runs while Shashi Kumar (38), Sameer Khajuria (32) and Dhruv Mahajan (29) were other main contributors. From JU, Irshad and Ajit Pal Singh took three and two wickets respectively.
Later, JU made a poor beginning losing their opener on duck. It was followed by loss of wickets on regular intervals resulting into whole side bowled out for 77 runs in 19 overs. Ajit Pal (16), Irshad (13) and Daljeet (10) were only batsmen scoring in double figure.
Sahil Bhalwal was most impressive from KCCC, who claimed five important wickets and played a key role in early dismissal of opponent innings. Raman Datta clinched three wickets.
