5 PHE employees arrested with forged service books | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 31: Police claimed to have arrested five employees of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) for allegedly fudging 397 service books of other employees in the central district Badgam. A police spokesman said here this afternoon that police at Nagbal Pakherpora on a tip-off raided a PHE hut. During the raid, police recovered 392 service books of employees of Badgam division. Those arrested included Abdul Rashid Rather, clerk, Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Junior clerk and three other employees Ghulam Rasool Ganaie, Mohammad Maqbool Dar and Abdul Gani Bhat. An official source said that it has been alleged that they were changing date of births of the employees against huge bribe. In one case the age difference between father and son, both working in the PHE, was just three years, they said. |
