Tara Chand addresses Sarpanches, Panches at Banihal
Reiterates Govt’s resolve to strengthen public Institution

JAMMU, May 31:
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has reiterated Government’s resolve to empower the basic democratic institutions at grass root level to ensure overall development of rural areas.
Tara Chand was addressing a mammoth rally of recently elected Sarpanches and Panches at Banihal today.
Tara Chand said that ongoing Panchayat Elections was a historical development adding that newly elected Sarpanches and Panches would implement programmes and police of the Government at the grass root level and help in eradicating corruption. They will formulate development plans of their areas after fixing purity as per the local needs and monitor their implementation.
Tara Chand said if Sarpanches and Panches can implement present Panchayat Act with honesty and dedication they can definitely change the present scenario and making J&K as a model State.
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed upon the Sarpanches and Panches to work hard and fulfill expectation of the people for which they have voted for. He said it is their responsibility to monitor progress of ongoing development projects and keep the Government posted with feedback in this behalf.
The newly elected Sarpanches and Panches came from Chamalvas, Neel, Ramsu, Nowgam, Pogalpristan, Sanapati and Moumangat to Banihal to take part in the rally.
MLA, Banihal, Viqar Rasool also addressed the gathering.
Among others Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Shabir Ahmad Bhat and SSP Ramban Anil Magotra and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
