Bhaderwah tourism-cum-cultural festival concludes

DODA, May 31:

With the colourful cultural and folk performances 4-day Bhaderwah tourism-cum-cultural festival concluded here yesterday. The Valedictory function which witnessed a series of performances by the cultural troops and students was held at Govt. Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bhaderwah.
The four day festival was organized by the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) in collaboration with Tourism Department Jammu and other line departments.
MLC Naresh Gupta was the chief guest in the concluding ceremony, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda A R Natnoo was the guest of honour.
Chief Executive Officer BDA Kalyan Singh, ASP Bhaderwah TR Katoch besides various other District and Sectoral Officers were present on the occasion.
A cultural programme was also organized at Bhalla-Khellani tourist resort Bhaderwah which included Bhaderwahi Dhaku Dance, Bhaderwahi folk songs, Dogri songs, Punjabi Songs and dance. Musical performance by the artists of Song & Drama Division Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Jammu and local artists in Bhaderwahi, Siraji, Kashmiri, Dogri, Urdu and Hindi was highly applauded by the audience.
At the concluding ceremony in Bhaderwah various cultural items were presented by the theatre artists, school children, local artists and artists of song and drama division.
Mementoes and medals were presented by the chief guest to the departments who participated in the festival and established their stalls for dissemination of information regarding various welfare schemes being implemented by them.Various schools and educational institutions who participated in the festival were also felicitated for their participation.
On the occasion, MLC Naresh Gupta, along with ADC Doda, A R Natnoo and District Social Welfare Officer, Rakesh Kumar also gave away prosthetic aids like Wheel Chairs, Hearing Aids etc to the physically challenged peoples provided by Welfare Department Doda.
