| DLF demands uniform wages for daily rated, casual labour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 31:
Dogra Liberation Front (DLF) has demanded that all the daily wagers of PHE Department including casual labour, daily rated workers/community participation workers and consolidated workers shall be paid uniform rate
According to a press handout, president DLF Ram Paul Sharma said that as per the Circular No 04-(hyd) of 2011 dated 14.2.2011 issued by Special Secretary to Government PHE, I&FC Department, the casual labours, daily rated workers, community participation workers should get uniform salaries
Sharma said the Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu has directed its subordinate officers that only the daily wagers appointed upto the year 2005 shall be paid the enhanced salary whereas all the daily wagers working in other departments of State Government and PHE Department Kashmir are getting uniform rate.
He said the rules framed for the daily wagers of the State Government is also applicable to the daily wagers of PHE Department Jammu whether they were appointed prior to the year 2005 or thereafter. Sharma said there is no logic in making categories of these poor daily wagers and all of them must be paid at uniform rates prescribed by the Government.
Sharma appealed to Chief Minister and PHE Minister to ensure uniform rate to all the
Daily wagers by intervening in the matter.
