| Insurance company employee found dead with throat slit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 31: A senior functionary of New India Insurance (NII)
was found lying dead at his residence at Roop Nagar here with his
throat slit.
He was alleged to have committed suicide by cutting his throat with
a knife.
Senior NII functionary Girdhari Lal Bhat (56) was alleged to be
under depression because of unfavourable working conditions at his
office situated near Asia Hotel at Gandhi Nagar, according to
police sources.
He was all alone in the house this morning after his wife left for
a private school where she tought. He has a son and a daughter.
While son was already outside the state, the daughter yesterday
left for Pune where she was undergoing training in some
professional course.
Sources said it was believed that due to depression, he ended his
life by slitting his throat.
The body was found lying a pool of blood by some relative who
informed police.
Police had registered a case in this connection and started
investigations.
His office colleagues were also likely to be questioned by police,
the sources added.
