| Charak releases Dogri books | | |
JAMMU | NOV 21 A special programme of release of Dogri books was organized by Dogri Sanstha, Jammu in which Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Minister of roads & buildings, J&K state was the chief guest. In this programme nine books of dogri and four volumes of Nami Chetna, quarterly magazine of Dogri Sanstha were released in this function. The books released in this function. This is for the first time that in one function so many books have been released. The books released contained publications namely Sakha Ram Binder & Macbeth by Shiv Mehta, Badlondian Baharana by Santosh Khajuria, Parag Dohavli by Shyam Dutt Parag and Dogri Sanstha’s publications namely Nanga Rukh, Sahitya Charcha, Pahela Phul, Baba Jitto etc. Ritu Sharma spoke on the book of Badlondian Baharan whereas Prof Veena Gupta, the general secretary gave a brief detail of other books released in this function. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, appreciating this effort of Dogri Sanstha also stressed that while writers are writing so many books, it is also duty of Dogras to read these books. He also stressed that in addition to literature it is also important to preserve Dogra culture and heritage. In this regard he made a special reference to Mubarak Mandi. Prof. Lalit Magotra, President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the importance of the books which were released today and considered this occasion as a very special occasion in the history of development of Dogri Literature. Prof. Magotra laid a stress on the urgent need of starting Duggar channel by Doordarshan which should give due representation of all languages spoken in the Jammu region.
