| Timber supply to begin in July: Shabir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, June 1:
Minster of State for Forests, CA&PD and Power, Shabir Ahmed Khan has directed concerned forest authorities to ensure timely extraction and stocking of timber at all forest sale outlets for early distribution to the consumers of the valley, adding that priority should be given to those deserved sanction holders who have not received timber during last financial year.
Interacting with several deputations of valley, who met the minister here today to apprise him about their day to day problems and development needs, the Minister assured the deputationists that their genuine demands would be redressed at proper forums. He issued on the spot instructions to the concerned officers for mitigating genuine problems immediately and development needs of the deputationists.
The Minister said timber distribution schedule has already been fixed from July this year, which has to be followed come what may.
In response to the stock and supply position of ration and its smooth distribution to the rationees, the Minister said that CA&PD authorities have already directed to ensure distribution of ration before 25th of every month to the consumers of the valley through sale outlets, cautioning that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
The Minister called upon PDD authorities to ensure scheduled power supply to the consumers and underscored the need for timely completion of all ongoing power projects for early benefits of the people.
