Jheewar biradari holds meeting, demands reservation rights | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 1: A meeting of All J&K Jheewar Biradari was held under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Dogra, President of the community in the presence of Bansi Lal Choudhary, Convenor, All J&K Backward Classes Union. In the meeting Murari Lal Balgotra, senior leader of the community, disclosed that State Government has not given the rights of 27% reservation to “Other Backward Classes(O.B.C)” guaranteed by the Supreme Court of India vide Verdict dt.16.12.1992 in the case “Indira Sawhney Vs Union of India” on Mandal Commission Report-1980. The Mandal Commission Identified “Other Backward Classes” for J&K state are still deprived of their constitutional rights of reservation in the state Govt services, their rights of reservation have been illegally and unconstitutionally have been given to the Artificial group of Backward classes under the garb of “Resident of Backward Areas”(R.B.A & A.L.C.). Further Kamal Kishore Bhardwaj disclosed that we appericiate the efforts of Lalu Parshad Yadav,Shard Yadav,Mulyam Singh Yadav and Other Member Parliament who have requested the Prime Minister of India in the Parliament to take the decision of Caste based Census-2011,which will start from June to December-2011.The house made an appeal to all O.B.C communities to take keen interest in this caste based census-2011 so that it will give us the positive results in connection with our population in J&K state. In the end Bansi Lal Choudhary disclosed that biradari is going to organize a one day convention of Jammu urban & rural on June 5 in connection with the awareness about the Caste based census.
