| Include PM under the purview of Lokpal: Sharma | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 1:
A Social worker, Om Parkash Sharma has said that the inclusion of Prime Minister in the jurisdiction of the Lok Pal Bill by the Drafting Committee should not be objected by the Government or any other authority or individual because the bill will be applicable to only to those who do corruption and no innocent can be involved.
In a press statement issued here today, Sharma said that the Government should not at all delay the passing of the Lok Pal Bill, otherwise, if Anna Hazare and his supporters are forced once again to start hunger strike then the responsibility for the same shall be of the Government only.
Sharma further pointed out that if the Government takes decisions after consultations with the element which is responsible for corruption and nepotism then it is not possible to practically to eradicate corruption or nepotism. The Government should avoid the delaying tactics on the Lok Pal Bill.
He further said that in case any of the officer of any department if delays the file for more than a month he should be dealt under the Lok Pal Bill, because the delay defeats justice and the same forces the person concerned to offer gratification.
