| Dr Farooq inaugurates cricket tourney | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, June 1:
The Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah today inaugurated 10thMirza Noor-u-Din Memorial Cricket tournament at Kashmir University here. Vice Chancellor Prof. Talat Ahmed was also present on the occasion.
Dr. Farooq who is also the President of J&K Cricket Association on the occasion said that Cricket Association is duty bound to promote cricket across the State, adding that the Association is trying its best to establish International Cricket Stadium in the State.
Dr. Farooq expressed his hope that the sports persons of the State will showcase their talent and bring laurels for the State adding that cricket association will help them to achieve their potential in full.
The tournament has been organized by Mirza Noor-u-Din Memorial Institute in collaboration with Amateur Cricket club. As many as 48 Cricket teams across the State will be competing in the trophy.
