Pleasant weather after moderate rain | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, June 1: After warm days for about a week, the weather became pleasant again in the Kashmir valley due to light rains and cloudy sky today. However, despite rains, hundreds of tourists, mostly from the plains where the mercury has touched above 45 degree, were enjoying the cold weather at tourist resort of Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg, wearing woolen and other warm clothes. After witnessing warm days and nights due to above normal temperature for the past about one week, people woke up to a pleasant weather this morning due to light rains in the summer capital, Srinagar and its adjoining areas. Director Met department here said that the sky would remain generally cloudy with light rains and thunderstorm in Srinagar today. He said rain or thunderstorm would occur at a few places in the Jammu and Kashmir with gusty winds likely in plains of Jammu division during the next two days. A report from Pahalgam, about 100 km from here, said despite rains since last evening hundreds of tourists could be seen moving around and enjoying horse riding.
