After Rukhsana got national applaud, women initiates taking part in anti-militancy activities
Nowshera women: Now fully trained in arms

Following a Rajouri girl Ruksnana Kousar’s brave effort of killing a militant commander with axe in Kalsian village of Shadara Sharief area in 2009, Women of Kalakote and Nowshera border belt have also shown their interests in arms training and these women are voluntarily approaching army and police for arms training, sources said.
When Ruksnana Kousar Kirti Chakra award and applaud from whole India including Prime Minister and resident of India, women of Rajouri have started showing interest in fight against militancy. With the same enthusiasm, these women are getting weapon training from army in Nowshera sector and Kalakote areas.
As per sources various women in Kalakote sector, mostly Muslim women in Border areas of Rajouri are voluntarily getting arms training from army and police to deal with the militants.
Recently Army provided weapon training to the women of Kalsian area of Nowshera sector so that they can fight militants at its own. Various ladies were seen getting this training from the army in the area.
Army sources said that various women of the area are approaching them for training so that they can themselves save their lives from the militants. They said that these women are being given training of .303 weapon and Self Loading Rifle. They added that most of the women in this area have become very mush familiar with the weapons and they are ready to use it for their self defense.
Meanwhile the women who have get training said that they want to serve their nation and fight militants along with other forces.
Even some school going girls are being registered as VDC members in the area. A girl without disclosing her name said that she attended school and kept her weapon in a locked safe. She said that though the need of using the weapon did not arise, she can use it against anti-national elements.
Sources said that following movement of militants in border areas of Kalakote last year, ladies started getting weapon training particularly in Tirath area so that they can help security forces in fight against militancy. More than a dozen women have reportedly get training while police is extending the programme to other areas.
