Inter country narcotic smugglers' gang busted | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 1: Police have busted an inter-country narcotic smugglers' gang in Udhampur by arresting two youth, who were in possession of a consignment of Nigerian origin smack which they had brought from New Delhi to sell it among the youth of the state. According to police sources, acting on a specific input a team of Udhampur police conducted a raid in village Dandyal and arrested two youth. On frisking, the police recovered a pouch stuffed with 100 grams of Nigerian smack valuing millions in international market from the possession of the duo. The arrested persons have been identified as Sahil Sharma son of Prabh Dayal and Karan Singh son of Rajinder Singh. Sources said, both these youth used to carry the consignment from Delhi and sell the same among youth on exorbitant rates. During their sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that they used to take Rs 200 for selling a match stick tip of smack. They also told police the name of their third accomplice, who, sources said is a Kashmiri youth settled in Jammu. Sources further informed that the youth were also instrumental in despatching the consignment to parts of Kashmir valley. The duo has also revealed the names of their various customers putting up in the different areas of the state. Police has made a list to pick them, the sources added. However, to reach the depth of the case a message to Delhi police has also been flashed out, sources maintained. On their disclosure, a police team of Udhampur is being dispatched to Jammu to arrest their third Kashmir based accomplice. The duo has been booked under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act against FIR No 122/2011 at Udhampur police station. |
