| More than 100pc increase on water tax in J and K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Jun 2 : The water tax in Jammu and Kashmir has been increased by more than 100 per cent from current financial year.
Executive Engineer, Water Works (WW) division Srinagar said here today the consumers will have to pay Rs 800 per annum water tax from current financial year against previous Rs 360.
Earlier, the tax was increased to Rs 1500 by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department. However, it was reduced to Rs 800.
He said those who have paid at the rate of Rs 1500 per annum tax will not get any refund. However, the extra amount paid by them will be adjusted with next year tax.
