| 73.18 % polling recorded in 9 CD blocks | | Panchayat Elections 13th phase | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, JUNE 02- The 13th phase of Panchayat Elections-2011 concluded peacefully with large number of people exercising their right of franchise to elect 240 Sarpanches and 1709 Panches in 9 CD blocks of the state.
The Election was held in 22 Sarpanch and 167 Panch Constituencies in CD block Sopore district Baramulla, 60 Sarpanch and 403 Panch Constituencies in CD block Tral district Pulwama, 11 Sarpanch and 79 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Leh district Leh, 15 Sarpanch and 99 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Chuchot district Leh, 07 Sarpanch and 43 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Kahru district Leh, 24 Sarpanch and 156 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Bhagwah district Doda, 18 Sarpanch and 110 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Gundana district Doda, 34 Sarpanch and 234 Panch in CD Block Dansal district Jammu and 49 Sarpanch and 418 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Mendhar district Poonch.
The poll percentage remained 54.17 % in Sopore, 50.87 % in Tral, 52.97 % in Leh, 63.55 % in Chuchot, 66 % in Kahru, 81.84 % in Bhagwah, 82.47 % in Gundana, 85.13 % in Dansal and 80.50 % in Mendhar with an overall percentage of 73.18 % in all these blocks. |
