| JKPCC felicitated newly elected panches and sarpanches | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 2: Member Legislative Council Ravinder Sharma- General Secretary and spokesperson JKPCC organised a function to felicitate the newly elected sarpanches and panches of block Sunderbani.
The function was attended by nineteen (19) out of twenty three (23)Sarpanches besides over eighty percent Panches of the block.
On this occasion four more newly elected Sarpanches also joined Congress party who were welcomed by Sharma and block president Gian Chand.
Addressing the gathering of Sarpanches and Panches besides some prominent citizens, Sharma congratulated the people of the state for their large participation in the recent Panchayat elections, giving a befitting reply to the forces of destruction and violence in the state.
Sharma favoured full empowerment of the Panchayat Raj Institutions at par with other party of the country to ensure that people avail the benefits of democracy at the grass root level and take keen interest in the system of governance.
Sharma appealed to the Sarpanches and Panches to untidily fight against corruption and monitor the development and welfare schemes meant for poor people.
MLC expressed his concern over erratic power and water crisis in the area and urged the government to take immediate short term measures to upgrade the transformer of 20 MVA at Kalakote to 50 MVA, to deal with the crisis.
