| DCC held meet, discussed various problems being faced by Jammuites | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 3: A meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu (U) was held under the presidentship of Om Chopra-Ex-MLA here today at party headquarter Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu.
Various problems of people of Jammu city were highlighted. All the office bearers of DCC, BCC and ward committees were present in the meeting.
PCC General Secretary S Amolak Singh and PCC Secretary Krishan Lal Gupta also addressed the meeting.
Speakers expressed their serious concern over the dilapidated condition of lanes and drains, erratic supply of power and scarcity drinking water in the urban areas of Jammu city.
They said that almost all the lanes of Jammu city have been dugged under ERA scheme but left half done, with the result that the people are facing lot of hardships. They demanded that all the streets, lanes and drains be repaired before setting of rainy season.
It was also felt in the meeting that after the darbar move the electric power supply is badly affected. There are long scheduled and unscheduled cuts and the people are suffering for the facility which they pay rent regularly.
The meeting urged upon the government to ensure regular supply of electric power and drinking water in Jammu city. |
