| ‘Youth have to play proactive role in cementing pluralist ethos’ | | Conference on Peace held | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, June 3:
In its sustained efforts to sensitize younger generation about the significance of peace, the Jammu and Kashmir Peace Foundation held a Conference at Chenani in Udhampur district.
The Chairman of the Peace Foundation Fayaz Ahmad Bhat was the chief guest in which people from all sections of the society participated.
The first conference of Foundation was held at Srinagar presided over by Governor N N Vohra in which threadbare discussion was held on the role of the peace for socio-economic development of the state.
He had appreciated the role of the Foundation for promoting peace in the state and buttressing harmony and tolerance.
The speakers highlighted the importance of holding such conferences for strengthening communal harmony and brotherhood among the people of the state for its development and defeating the designs of the elements inimical to peace.
The Foundation is organizing more such programmes in the state to make people the part of the peace process. It was stated that younger generation has to play proactive role in promoting peace and cement harmonious living, which is very important in a multi lingual and multi religion society like ours.
