PDP demands action in allegations of corruption against official | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, June 3: Peoples Democratic Party has demanded strong action in allegations of corruption against a district official of Srinagar who is alleged to have demanded a bribe of Rs eight crores for disposal of a case. Responding to a report appearing in a Srinagar news paper a spokesman of the party said while the state was deep into corruption scandal by officials and the politicians, The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had routinely been dismissing them as un substantiated allegations. He has been asking for proof when ever he was asked a question about the inaction against those who are looting the state wealth. The Spokesman said in this case it looks evidence has been produced to the extent that the complainant had to go to the High Court for seeking relief. The spokesman said the Chief Minister him self and other concerned ministers too have reportedly been in know of the scandal taking place in the states capital it self. This raises apprehensions of complicity at the political level which must be addressed, he added.
