Governor for closer coordination with local hospitality industry | Amarnath Yatra-2011 | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, June 3: The Governor, N N Vohra, who is the Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), has further enhanced the allocation of helicopter seats to the Hotel and Hospitality Industry in Jammu and Kashmir for the ensuing Amarnath Yatra, for enabling larger economic benefits to the local hospitality industry in the State. The Governor took a decision to this effect, while interacting with a deputation of the representatives of the Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Owners Federation, Pahalgam Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association and House Boat Owners Association which called on him at Raj Bhavan here last evening. The representatives of the Associations hailed the Shrine Board, in ensuring greater economic benefits to the local stakeholders of Kashmir and Jammu Divisions, over the past 2 years. It was decided to assign 20 heli-seats each to Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Owners Federation, House Boat Owners Association and All Jammu Hotel and Restaurants Association, while the Pahalgam Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association has been allocated 30 seats per day. The Chief Executive Officer of the Board, R. K. Goyal, said that the allocation of 90 helicopter seats is in addition to the daily quota of 180 helicopter bookings earlier allocated to the four recognized Travel and Tour Operators, two each from Kashmir and Jammu Divisions. The deputation comprised President, Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Owners Federation, Srinagar, Mushtaq Burza, its Senior Vice President, Saiz Bakshi and Junior Vice President, Manzoor Dug; Vice President, House Boat Owners Association, TRC, Srinagar, G. M. Pakhtoon and General Secretary, Abdul Rashid Kolu; and the President, Pahalgam Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association, Javed Burza, its General Secretary, Dildar Ahmad, Executive Members, Asif Iqbal and Shabir Ahmad and former President, Khazir Mohammad. The Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, Preet Pal Singh was present on the occasion.
