HC restrains JKCA from taking policy decisions

Jammu, June-03 (JNF):- The High Court today restrained the Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) from taking policy decisions.
A single bench of the Court comprising Justice JP Sethi in a petition filed by Avtar Krishan Tickoo & Ors of Kashmir Cricket Club, has directed Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) not take any policy decision till next date.
The Court after hearing the parties observed that records have not been produced. Seniorr Advocate Sunil Sethi appearing for the JKCA seeks more time to produce the record. The Court ordered to list the petition on June 7, 2011 as requested and retarisned JKCA from taking any policy decision. It is worth mentioning here that the State High Court had directed General Secretary of J&K Cricket Association to produce the records pertaining to the issuance of self-cheques from April 15, 2009 onwards. In the petition it has been submitted that the petitioners No 1 is representing Kashmir Cricket Club, Petitioner No 2 is the President Kashmir Cricket Club, Petitioner NO 3 is the member working committee (representing WCC) Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association, Petitioner NO 4 is a member JKCA General Council, petitioner NO 5 is representing KCC and member General Council seeking direction to BCCI not to make further financial grants/ release of funds for any purpose in favour of JKCA till duly audit accounts of association and further restraining the respondents 3, 4 and 5 from acting and conducting themselves or taking an decisions in their alleged capacity as office bearers on J&K Cricket Association and further prohibiting them from dealing and handling the affairs, activities, funds, assets, and bank accounts of the association and further prohibiting them from undertaking and conducting any exercise with respect to the constitution of the General council and working committee of the J&K Cricket Association and to set election process into effect for the election of office bearer of the working committee of J&K Cricket Association.
