| Girls Kho-Kho: Doda, Jammu blank opponents in U-17 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 03: District Doda dominated in the divisional level inter-district kho-kho tournament after girls from the districts blanked their opponents from Ramban and Poonch in under-17 year event at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today.
In other under-17 matches of the day, Samba outplayed Kishtwar by six points (8-2), Kathua beat Rajouri by three points (4-1) and Reasi blanked Ramban by seven points (7-0). Rajouri prevailed over Udhampur by one point (2-1), Udhampur defeated Kishtwar by three points (4-1) and Samba held Kathua to a draw (1-1).
Meanwhile, in under-14 category, apart from teams of Jammu, Doda and Samba, who won both their matches on the opening day, the teams of other seven districts are precariously placed and would have to fight it out to seal berths in the semifinals.
While, Rajouri drew with Kathua (5-5), Udhampur outclassed Rajouri (3-2), Reasi trounced Ramban by seven points (12-5) and Jammu defeated Reasi (3-2).
In other results, Samba drubbed Kishtwar by nine points (13-4), Doda outplayed Poonch by four points (9-5), Jammu thrashed Poonch by by six points (10-4), Samba beat Kathua (2-0) and Doda outclassed Ramban 10 points (11-1). For Doda, Nadia Akhtar and Manisha played brilliantly to help their team win both the matches while from Jammu Shivani and Kajal Devi showed superb reflexes and motor ability.
