Peerzada calls for implementation of SRO 123 by pvt schools | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JUNE 03- Minister for Education and Public Enterprises, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today convened a joint meeting with the officers of School Education and representatives of private educational institutions to discuss various issues pertaining to the development of education sector and to bring more transparency and improvement in the system. The Minister maintained that several measures have been taken to improve education in government as well as in private institutions during the past few years. He said private institutions are playing a vital role in imparting quality education to the students in the State. He said the government will conduct a thorough survey in all educational institutions to regulate the fee structure and to improve the quality of education. He said that government will ensure that private institutions must not charge un-genuine fee from the students and a well- knit mechanism will be put in place to monitor their activities, he added. Peerzada directed the representatives of private institutions to implement SRO 123 in letter and spirit and charge fee from the students according to the criteria fixed by the government. Disciplinary action would be taken against those found violating the standing instructions. He said that the government would constitute a joint committee of government officers and members of private institutions to review the fee structure from time to time. The committee would also suggest various measures to the government to bring further improvement in the education set up, said the Minister. Among others, Commissioner/Secretary, Education s. Naseem Lankar, Director School Education, Kashmir s. Shagufta Parveen and representatives of various private schools from across the Valley attended the meeting.
