| Dilawar Flaggs off thirteen New Water Tankers for Public service | | | Jammu, Nov 22 With flagging off new eight water tankers and another sixteen likely to be pressed into service soon, at least 30 additional tankers would be made operational in Jammu to meet out demand of water adequately. Minister for Public Health and Engineering, Mr. Dilawar Mir today flagged off at least 13 new water tankers with 8 for Jammu and 5 for Srinagar by handing over the keys of the vehicles to their respective drivers. He said that Government has come up to the expectation of people by fulfilling its promise of providing enough infrastructure including water tankers to people to meet their basic necessities like drinking water. Executed by “Economic Reconstruction Agency” (ERA) the provision of these tankers is one component of Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded multi-sector Project for infrastructure Rehabilitation in Jammu and Kashmir. The minister on the occasion appreciated the efforts put up by ERA and stressed that more needs to be done in this regard. So that infrastructure development is made in all regions of state. He also stressed upon the employees and workers of PHE to work up to the expectations of people. M.L.A’s Mr. Raman Bhalla and Mr.Yogesh Saehney and Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Mr. Manmohan Singh also spoke on the occasion and appreciated coalition Government for making efforts in mitigating the problems of people. Among other present on the occasion were Chief Engineers PHE Jammu Mr. Goswami and other officers of ERA and PHE department. |
