22 bovine animals recovered at Lakhanpur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 3: Lakhanpur police foiled a bovine smuggling bid when it intercepted a truck carrying 22 bovine animals coming from Punjab here near Kro Khud, 5 kilometer away from the entry gate of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said. Police has also arrested four bovine smugglers, interrogation of whom was in progress in Lakhanpur police station. They said that, acting on inputs, Lakhanpur police laid a naka and intercepted a truck (GJ18X-8344) and on being frisked police found 22 bovine animals in it. When documents for the transportation of bovines was demanded, official sources said, the accused persons failed to produce paving way for their arrest, including driver of the truck.T he arrested have been identified as Baba Din son of Luda Shah,Ramesh Chand son of Munshi Ram,Satpal son of Sal Chand and Satwant son of Sukhdev,all residents of Billawar. |
