'Sapolia is 'deputy leader', Prof Gharu Ram chief whip in group led by Gupta
After camping in Srinagar for days, group to arrive in Jammu today

Jammu, June 2: In swift turn of events happening within BJP Legislative Party, the six MLAs supporting Prof Chaman Lal Gupta as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party have decided unanimously that upon considering the group of four as dissident group 'having defected' from the Legislative Party, Jagdish Raj Sapolia would function as Deputy leader of the Legislative Party in place of Jugal Kishore Sharma whereas Prof Gharu Ram has been 'designated' as chief whip in place of Ashok Khajuria. Sources said the six members have given a written communication in this to the Speaker of the Assembly to inform this what they have described as 'majority' decision taken by all the six members of the Assembly. The written communication was handed over to Speaker at Srinagar on Thursday, sources said.
Sources also said that the two legislators Ashok Khajuria and Jugal Kishore who fall in the group of four , had gone to Lucknow to attend the BJP Working committee meeting along with three senior leaders and functionaries of the party in J&K unit- Dr Nirmal Singh , Dr Jitender Singh and Shamsher SinghManhas . However, following fresh developments related to disqualification issue, particularly the orders issued by the court as also the 'decision' of the grpoup of six to announce new names for two Legislative Party posts, the two legislators Ashok Khajuria and Jugal Kishore are reported to taken flights back home.
Meanwhile, the group of seven led by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta who were camping in for the last few days in Srinagar are reaching here tomorrow. Sources said a number of followers and supporters considered to be loyalists of Prof Gupta have already done preparations to give a 'rousing' reception to the group and may also announce formally their association with them, though there is no formal split in the party as yet.
