| Progress of civil works under SSA reviewed | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 4: To review the of progress of different civil works under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) of district Udhampur, the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Aseer Ahmed Khan convened a meeting of the officers of Education Department here today.
In the meeting status of work of Primary and Middle school buildings, additional class rooms, cluster and zonal resource centers was reviewed thread barely. The meeting was apprised that out of 780 Primary School buildings, 492 have been completed till ending May, 2011 in the district while work on remaining buildings are under execution at different levels.
Similarly out of 73 targeted Middle School buildings, 52 have been completed. 493 additional class rooms have been constructed against a target of 848 rooms during the period.
Stressing the need for time bound completion of different works under SSA, Khan exhorted upon the officer to co-ordinate so as to speed up the targeted works.
He instructed the Zonal Education Officers for executing land agreements with land owners for speeding up the execution work in consultation of tehsildar concerned within week time.
To check the punctuality of the staff posted at different educational institutions especially falling in winter zone, the DDC instructed the tehsildars and SHO concerned to conduct surprise checking and report to him. The Chief Education Officer was instructed to make remaining seven mobile schools functional as early as possible for the convenience of the nomadic population of the district. |
