| Semis position cleared in inter-district kho-kho | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 04: Last four positions have been cleared in the ongoing divisional level inter-district kho-kho (under-14 and under-17 girls) tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Youth Hostel Nagrota, near here today.
Teams which have made it to the semifinals of under-17 kho-kho included Jammu, Samba, Udhampur and Doda while in under-14 category Samba, Reasi, Jammu and Udhampur have made it to the last four stages.
Now, in under-17 year semifinals, Udhampur shall face Doda and Jammu shall meet Samba while in under-14 event, Samba shall lock-horns against Reasi while Jammu shall face Udhampur tomorrow.
Earlier, in under-17 league round, played today, Jammu drubbed Ramban by an inning and 10 points, Rajouri defeated Kishtwar by four points, Reasi blanked Poonch by 5-0 and Udhampur trounced Kathua by 3-2. As also Poonch toppled Ramban by 4-0, Kathua outplayed Kishtwar by an innings and two points, Doda thrashed Reasi by one turn and one point, Udhampur outclassed Samba by one point (3-2) and Jammu secured win against Rajouri 2-0.
In under-14 event, Jammu beat Ram by four points, Rajouri got walkover Kishtwar, Reasi drubbed Poonch by three points (4-1), Poonch thrashed Ramban by one turn and six points, Kathua got walkover Kishtwar, Reasi beat Doda by one turn and two points, Samba toppled Udhampur by (3-2), Jammu outplayed Doda by four points (7-3) and Samba trounced Rajouri by three points (4-1).
Today’s matches were officiated by penal of experts including Rakesh Kakkar, Rakesh Kumari, Rajesh Sambyal, Sham Singh, Suraj Dev Singh, Kulbir Singh, Gagan Kumar, Shashi Sambyal and Anju Rani. |
