A defeated Sarpanch candidate of Morha area of Rajouri has approached the election authorities complaining that dead persons have cast their votes in his area. The appellate court of Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri regarding the election matter has yet to hold session on the case but it is strange that how dead voters figured in the voter lists.
As per the election writ petition filled by Haji Mir Hussain, defeated candidate in panchayat Morha, various votes have been cast on the names on the dead people.
According to petition Mohammad Nazir son of Mohammad Hussain died on January 27, 2011 but his vote has reportedly cast on April 30 after 3 months of his death. As per voter list, Mohammad Nazir figured at serial number 54, Khana Number 10 in ward number 6 of the Morha Panchayat. Mohammad Nazir is also dead in the police record of Police Station Kotranaka at 06/PSK. In the same panchayat, sources said that somebody has cast vote of Jia Banoo wife of Noor Mohammad resident of Ward number 5 who figured at serial number 109, Khana number 27 in the voter list
Vote of Banni, wife of Noor Mohammad also stands cast. Whereas the fact remains she died on February 13, 2011 and Police Station Kotranka has registered her death in the register at No 15/PSK on February 16, 2011. Banni a resident of Ward number 5 figures at serial number 91 and Khana number 24 in the voter list.
Sources said that Mohammad Shafi son of Bhulla has also died on January 21, 2011 but somebody has reportedly cast his vote in Ward number 6 of the Morha Panchayat. According to Police Station record he is dead according to registration number 05/PSK on February 25, 2011. The name of Mohammad Shafi figures at serial number 45 and Khana number 8 in the voter list.
Sukhbir Singh son of Ghayair Chand died in road mishap at Banihal on March 31, 2011 and his name has been registered in the dead persons register by PS Kotranaka on April 4, 2011 at number 33/PSK but sources said that his vote has also been casted by some one.
Talking to Early Times, Haji Mir Hussain said that he is having proof that somebody has cast votes of dead persons Mohammad Nazir, Jia Banoo, Banni, Mohammad Shafi and Sukhbir. He said that he also produced proof of those votes casted on the name of employees who were outside on duty. Mir Hussain said that has file appeal of holding re-election before the appellate court. |
