| GCET organises lecture on ‘Application of Calculus in Engineering’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 4:
Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu today organised an expert lecture on ‘Application of Calculus in Engineering’ as part of popular lecture series.
The programme was presided by Prof Bhupinder Singh, Principal of the College and attended by B.E Students of 2nd semester. First lecture was delivered by Dr K S Charak Associate Professor Deptt of Mathematics, University of Jammu in which he discussed the importance of calculus in various fields including natural sciences, engineering, medical sciences and social sciences.
Second Lecture was delivered by Professor S D Sharma Dean Faculty of Mathematic Sciences. He spoke about the importance of Mathematics which is being considered as modern languages of science and is used as an essential tool in all disciplines of learning throughout the world. He also advised GCET students to take part in various competitive programmes organized by Jammu Mathematical Society.
The dignitaries who participated in the programme were Dr Sameru Sharma, Dr Simmi Dutta, Dr S K Gupta, Sarbjeet Singh, Karan Gupta and Sanjeev Gupta.
