Militants' beat up 2 Rajouri civilians | Police ruled out militants' involvement | | Early Times Report rajouri, June 4: Two injured persons who were admitted in Thanamandi hospital have alleged that they were severely beaten up by some militants operating in Mangyote Dhok of Thanamandi on the direction of few local people. Police, however, rubbished the claims of the injured and said that the incident is the result of a dispute between two local families and militants might not have beaten them. As per reports, two civilians Makhan Shah and Manzoor Shah of village Mangyote have been hospitalized in Thanamandi hospital after they received serious injuries. Manzoor's condition is stated to be critical while Makhan Shah is returning towards normalcy. In his statement to the police, Makhan said that he was thrashed by some persons including two militants and seven locals. He alleged that some civil people took him and his brother to some unknown location and handed over them to the militants who beat them up and set free only when they presumed them dead. Some locals shifted the injured brothers to Thanamandi where after registering their complaint police deputed a party led by SHO Thanamandi who picked up a civilian for questioning. When contacted, SHO said that he has examined the case and there may be no involvement of any militant in the issue. He said that it may be local dispute on the ownership rights on a piece of land. He said that police is still investigating the matter but as per locals there was no movement of any militant in the area. |
