1500 students through in CT Mega Job Fest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JUNE 04 : In furtherance to its endeavour for bridging up the gap between industry and serving their demands, CT group of institution, Jalandhar, Punjab added yet another feather to its cap by organizing a Mega Job Fest at Jammu university New campus, Jammu. About 1500 students from different streams participated in this event of mammoth magnitude. This include students from J&K, neighbouring areas as well as from colleges in Punjab. There were ten companies from diverse sectors to recruit students. This is worth mentioning that CT Group of Institutions had organized 8 job Fests in the past and mega job fest 2011 was the ninth. CT Group has earlier organized these fairs in its campus as well as in Bihar and J&K. Kavinder Gupta Ex-Mayor of Jammu was the Chief Guest of the event. He appreciated the efforts of CT Group for organizing this kind of mega event. He further added that such job fairs provide a platform to companies, organizations and recruiters of all levels and involved in all facets of business, services, education and research to recruit the students from one of the best talent pools of the country. BJP State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi was the guest of honour, Sunny Sehgal, Subash Kannaw, Director Training & Placements, CT Group, Gaurav Khanna, Training & Placement officer CT Group were also present during the event. Harpreet Singh, Director Administration, CT Group of Institutions expressed his gratitude to the companies for being a part of this mega event. He also applauded the efforts of the department of corporate relations and placement for the valiant effort The job fest witnessed a good footfall of students with numbers of participants crossing thousand benchmark. Students from B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, B.Tech B.Pharma and Post Graduate MCA/MBA and other disciplines participated in the event. Some of the top notch companies included WNS, HDFC Bank, Lupin Pharma, Karvy, Kayako Infotech, Vibe Technologies, Blue heaven securities, Jammu Ford and Highland Securities. These companies had different placement process. Some companies did the initial screening by studying the CVs of the students and inviting them for the interview. There were others who had a comprehensive process including written test followed by a group discussion and personal interview. Since the choice of companies for a student was multiple, students were able to set up the priorities as to how they should plan the day. Moreover, there was no restriction on the number of interviews a candidate could take; some candidates were able to get themselves selected in more than one company.
