| Youth Congress demands water for irrigation | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jun 4: Former MLA Sangrama and president Pradesh Youth Congress Shoaib Nabi Lone has urged upon the authorities of Irrigation department to provide water for irrigation to the farmers of Sangrama area.
In a statement issued to press, PYC president said that in most of areas of Sangrama Constituency including Kreer, Nopura, Dandmo and Takia wagera, farmers are suffering because of un availability of irrigation. He has said that for the Peddy field the farmers require planty of water for irrigation and the local kohl (cannals) are dry resulting in the Peddy crop is effected badly.
Lone has asked the authorities of Irrigation department to provide water to the farmer other wise the farmers will be left with no other option than to come on road. He has further said that youth congress will definitely support any agitation launched by farmers in case their demand is not fulfilled. Shoaib Nabi Lone has urged the agriculture minister to take steps for early redressel of the problem of poor farmers.
