| Skaters, cyclists rally held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jun 5: Department of Environment and Remote Sensing organized a rally of Skaters, Cyclists and foot marchers started from M.A. Stadium to celebrate World Environment Week 2011.
Rally passed from Vikram Chowk, Gandhi Nagar Gole Market and accomplished at M.A. Stadium Jammu. In the rally, hundred of students of different schools, Colleges participated alongwith members of morning and evening walkers associations.
Chief Guest of the function, Dilbagh Singh flagged off the rally from M.A. Stadium at 7:15 a.m. In his key note gave a detailed prospective of present day environment scenario and emphasized upon the participants to protect trees as well as to plant more and more trees wherever possible to enlarge carbon bank of the country.
S.C. Sharma, IFS, Conservator of Forest, Jammu was Guest of Honour, who also share his knowledge with the participants. V.K. Raina, IFS (CF) Regional Director Environment was also present on the occasion besides the other officers of Police, Forests and Civil Administration.
