SDM conducts surprise anti-encroachment drive in Ramnagar | | | Early Times Report RAMNAGAR, Jun 6: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ramnagar today conducted a surprise anti-encroachment drive. According to an official handout, the drive was conducted under the overall supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Amit Sharma in which a team of officers/officials including E.O Municipal Committee (MC) Ramnagar Santosh Kotwal, Naib-Tehsildar Mansa Ram Dhoi and In-charge SHO Ramnagar Kaku Ram visited areas around bus stand, markets, lanes and bye-lanes and removed unauthorized encroachments. Anti-encroachment drive lasted for more than four hours in which lots of shopkeepers, vendors, hawkers, Rehri-owners and dhaba-owners were challaned, fined and warned for strict adherence to rules and removal of all unauthorized structures while conducting their routine business activities. An on-spot fine to the tune of Rs.3, 300 was realised in the anti-encroachment drive from various shop owners and vendors. SDM Amit Sharma also took a round of public conveniences and other structures which have been built and maintained by Municipal Committee and he issued spot instructions to EO MC Ramnagar to immediately incorporate minor repairs on them so that they become use worthy and functional, as the same was long pending demand of the locals. SDM further directed them to use drum-beating methodology constantly over the next few days in all the areas falling under MC Ramnagar to create awareness amongst the shopkeepers and general public about the removal of unauthorized structures and observance of rules and guidelines in letter and spirit.
