700 grapplers to fight for junior titles | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jun 6: About 700 grapplers are all set to fight for titles in junior category during the four-day 30th Boys and 13th Girls Junior Wrestling Championship to be held at Jammu from June 16. "Junior wrestlers in both boys and girls categories will be displaying their skills in four-day long National Junior Wrestling Championship scheduled to begin from June 16 at University of Jammu," President, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), Dushyant Sharma said here today. Sharma said about 700 grapplers from across the country would be participating in the gala event besides 200 technical officials including coaches and referees. WFI president further said, Executive Body Meeting followed by General Body Meeting would also be conducted in this winter capital on June 18 at Amar Singh Club to discuss various plans for the facelift of the wrestling. Meanwhile, Wrestling World Champion and Olympiad Bronze Medalist Susheel Sharma would also be the highlight of the four-day long tournament. "As Olympics are on the cards so all out efforts will be made to boost and strengthen the wrestling for outstanding results in the prestigious event," Dushyant added.
