| JMC continues anti encroachment drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 6:
The enforcement staff Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) led by the Chief Enforcement Officer along with police force carried out the drive to clear the footpaths / pavements and part of road sides in various parts of the city here today.
The team conducted the drive in areas of Indira Chowk, BC Road, Ambphalla, Panjtirthi, Kacchi Chawni, Exchange Road, Dogra Hall, Sidhara etc. During the drive the goods /articles like Weighing scales, Utensils, Drums, Boards, Tables, Counters, Stools, Buckets, Tarpaulin were seized which were placed by the shopkeepers/ vendors on the footpaths, pavements and parts of roads in these areas. The team also demolished the wall of a shop which was being extended unauthorizedly at Kachi Chawni.
Besides this, the team also removed the reharies which were kept stationary / plying without Reharie license in these areas and causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and obstructing the free flow of vehicular Traffic.
The drive was carried out under instructions from S C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu.
