| ZEO issues closure notice to 22 unauthorized schools | | |

Zonal Educational Officer has issued closure notice to 22 private educational institutions functioning unauthorizedly in the area. This action follows following reports about functioning of several institutions unauthorizedly in the town carried by the paper some two months back.
Talking to Earlier Times ZEO Asha Pathania today confirmed that several schools in the area were functioning unauthorizedly forcing the administration to issue notice to such institutions for their closure. She said that these schools have been given 15 days time for winding up the institutions failing which these would be forcibly closed by the government. She said a list of 22 such schools have been prepared who have found functioning illegally and efforts are on to trace out other such schools in the area.
Ms Pathania also confirmed that a separate list is being formulated of those schools, which run classes beyond the sanctioned level. She said that some of the schools were taking classes of 9th and `10th also though recognized up to eight classes only and warned these institutions to run classes as per the recognition or otherwise face consequences including de- recognition.
It may be recalled that EARLY TIMES had come up with a story about functioning of some schools without recognition in the area some two months back and the administration seems to have woken up after a deep slumber, which reflects functioning of the education administration both at Zonal and higher level.
