| Work on Rs 35 lakh tube well to start soon: Speaker | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, JUNE 6:
The Speaker, Legislative Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone today said that work on Rs 35 lakh tubewell at Tirgam Sonawari will start soon, adding on completion the project will fulfil the long demand of the people in area.
He said this while chairing a high level meeting convened by him to review progress of ongoing PHE and Irrigation projects in Sonawari constituency.
The Speaker directed the concerned to install water pump at Makhdoom yari village also to facilitate irrigation to the people in habing there.
Threadbare discussion was held on various water supply schemes and irrigation projects included Goshibugh, wangipora, Hajin town Sonbarn Nowgam, Trehgam, Odina Astanpora, Gundi Khaleel and Wangipora Khurwan.
It was informed in the meeting that the Direct Project Reports (DPR) for three irrigation projects included Kanitar, Khojabal and Boni pura Asham have been prepared and are being processed for approval.
Pathipora GundiJehangir and Zoonipora Asham water supply schemes also came up for discussion. It was given out that water pump at Ladipora would be installed soon.
Addressing the meeting, the Speaker directed the concerned to work with utmost zeal and speed up the pace on all ongoing works to ensure their completion within stipulated timeframe. Lone directed for comprehensive project for Margi Gundi Jhangir dewatering scheme and quick laying of pipe line in Kartargund village to streamline drinking water facilities for the people of the area.
