LA panel to study plan outlays of edu deptt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JUNE 6: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislative Assembly today sought official record from education department about up gradation of schools, year wise and division wise allocation and distribution of funds for last two years. Under Construction part, the Committee sought documents reflecting outlays under SSA block wise, expenditure made and diversion of funds, status of ongoing school buildings, details of excess and surrender funds for the last two years. The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of Mir Saifullah highlighted the need to have smooth distribution of funds. The Committee discussed in detail audit paras pertaining to the education department. The committee highlighted the need to speed up the execution of school buildings to ensure effective functioning of the schools at ground level. The Committee sought scientific survey for opening of new schools to ensure equitable development of infrastructure in the education department. Legislators, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Mohammad Ashraf Gania, Naresh Kumar Gupta and Syeed Bhashrat Ahmad Bukhari gave their valuable suggestions with regard to settle the audit paras. Among others, Commissioner Secretary Education, Naseem Lanker, Director General Accounts and Treasuries, Wali Mohammad Bhat, Director School Education Kashmir, Shugufta Parveen, Director School Education Jammu, Gulzar Ahmad, Director SSA, Yasha Mudgal and representative from Accountant General Office attended the meeting.
