Khoda reviews Yatra arrangements Stresses co-ordination to facilitate Yatris

SRINAGAR, June 6:
Arrangements with regard to security and deployment of man power for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra were discussed at a high level meeting at Pahalgam today. The meeting chaired by Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda, was attended by senior police, para-military and civil administration officers.
The high level meeting took stock of the preparedness for ensuing Yatra-2011 and in the outset, the DGP sought reports from officers representing various agencies viz police, para-military and civil administration. He was briefed about the arrangements put in place by these agencies for smooth conduct of the Yatra.
Addressing the meeting, Khoda stressed upon the officers to work in close coordination and ensure safe conclusion of Yatra. He said that efficient security arrangements have been made from Pathankote to Holy Cave and sufficient man power has already been activated, and equipped with requisite logistics to conduct Yatra in a befitting manner.
Emphasising the need for joint meetings followed by rehearsals of all agencies involved in the Yatra, Khoda said that Joint Yatra Control Rooms should be established at different destinations with better communication network to cover the routes leading to Holy Cave.
The meeting was informed about the police bandobast and deployment of man power. Besides more than 700 personnel from JKP, 36 coys of CRPF and BSF will be deployed for the Yatra, which is taking off on June 29. Volunteers from Civil Defence Organization will also be pressed to assist the yatries enroute the Cave.
To avoid traffic jams, 11 parking slots have been identified at Baisarn, Aru, Chandanwari, Baitab Valley, Nunwan, Frislan, Loripora, Bus-Stand, Sumo Stand, Sumo Stand near Mandir and Golf Course Pahalgam. Communication network across the State has been set up to strengthen coordination among the agencies and the network will start its functioning from June 25. Sufficient man power with latest communication equipments will be deployed to ensure better communication facilities on both the routes of the Yatra.
