Ravinder seeks govt attention towards problems of border people | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 6: Member Legislative Council, General Secretary & Spokesperson Pradesh Congress Committee RAvinder Sharma has sought attention of the government towards the genuine demands of the border villages of tehsil Nowshera, where some basic amenities of life are still not available. Sharma conducted tour of Jhangar, Lam, Pukherne, Bund-Mora and Kampla areas situated on extreme LOC in tehsil Nowshera and took stock of the hardships of the people in the absence of some basic necessities of life. A large number of people joined the congress party during the public meetings at Pukherne and Kampla; Ch. Khalil Ahmed-Sarpanch and seven Panches of these areas expressed their faith in the Congress policies and joined Congress party alongwith their followers. The residents apprised Mr. Sharma about lack of water and power supply in most parts of Pukherne and Kampla Panchayats. They also complained about the misuse of funds favoritism in the execution of developmental works. They also expressed their resentment over the neglect of their area in various spheres of life. They demanded upgradation of High school Laroka to 10+2 level, Health and veterinaries services in the area. The lack of mobile phone facility in most of these areas and need to install hand pumps and road connectivity was highlighted by them. They also demanded special recruitment drive in these areas in the Army, para-military forces and police departments. Panchayat level committees were also constituted to take up developmental matters of these areas.
