DCC decried delay in issuance of BPL ration cards | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: Pritam Singh Jamwal, General Secretary DCC Jammu (R) and newly elected Sarpanch of Panchayat Dhan-Jindrah (Nagrota) has expressed concern over the delay of issuance of BPL ration cards to the poors and urged upon the government to issue the BPL cards at the earliest possible time. In a statement Jamwal said that the CAPD department has collected ration cards with the pretext that new survey will be conducted and fresh ration cards will be issued to them, after the survey. He said that one year has passed but ration cards has not been issued to the people of Below Poverty Line (BPL). About six month back DC Jammu has visited the area and taken open darbar of the people. On that occasion, (DC) assured them that new ration cards would be issued shortly. He said that although BPL people are getting ration but they have been deprived from the other facilities without ration cards and these should be issued at the shortest possible time. Pritam Singh urged upon the PHE department to depute water tanker for Dhan Panchayat Jindrah to meet the requirement of people as a short term measure. He also demanded regular supply of electric power in the area . He said that poor, widows and old age people have deposited their forms for pension to the social welfare department but not a single person has get pension so far. He demanded immediate release of pension to the genuine people. He also demanded the supply of seed and fertilizer for the season of Khrif crops ahead. |
