| JU organizes workshop on Job Skills | | |
JAMMU NOV 22 Centre for Adult, Continuing Education and Extension, CACE&E, University of Jammu organized a one-day workshop at Computer Sciences Seminar Hall on “Job Skills” here this morning. The workshop was organized keeping in view to enhance the employability skills of the students and to make them competent for the present job market. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo delivered the inaugural address and stressed that the greatest strength of any nation lies in its work force especially young human resource. A nation can develop only if the potential of the young blood can utilized properly and fully explored. He said that India happens to be one of the youngest nations and strength of this large work force lies in its soft skills. He also stated that the average capacity of young students of Jammu though is very high but a large part of their potential remains unexplored, so aim of workshop is to fill the gaps. Two eminent experts from Career Smart Pvt. Limited. Usha Alberquere, Director Career Smart and Sushma Singh acted as Chief Resource persons in the workshop. They expressed that it is great honour for giving an opportunity to interact with the students of prestigious institution of University of Jammu. Earlier, Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Director, CACE&E, highlighted the aims and objectives of workshop. She stressed the importance of developing the soft and employability skills of the youth. Mrs. Sita Anand, Deputy Counsellor, conducted the programme.
