| GH Mir releases “Aalam-e-Gaeb” | | | EARLY TIMES
Srinagar , June 7: In a well attended function held at Academy headquarters Lal Mandi Srinagar on Tuesday Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir released Hilal Kashmiri’s poetry collection “Aalam-e-Gaeb”.
As a prelude to the function, Gaffar Kanihami and party mesmerised the audience with Kashmiri sufiana.
Speaking on the occasion Mir appreciated the Cultural Academy authorities for their efforts in propagating and promoting Kashmiri culture.
Commenting on the financial difficulty, which the Academy has been facing for over a year now, Mir said that he would take up the issue with the state chief minister and minister for culture so that things could be sorted out.
Earlier welcoming the guests Secretary Academy, Zafar Iqbal Manhas said that despite financial difficulty his organisation had been discharging its constitutional obligations and promised that Cultural Academy would do so in future also.
As part of the function Secretary Academy also presented a set of recent publications of Academy to the minister; a gesture which was highly appreciated by Mir.
In connection with the release function of ‘Aalam-e-Gaeb’, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen read a comprehensive paper wherein he dealt with different aspects of the book.
Appreciating the worth of the book Shaheen said that because of its content the book was a must read.
Organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Gulfam Cultural Forum, Tangmarg, the function was attended by a number of persons including Abdul Jabar, Secretary Gulfam Cultural Forum, Saba Shaheen and Imbad Saqi among others.
The programme proceedings were conducted by senior editor, Kashmiri, Zafar Muzafar.
