| DG Border Roads Organisation calls on Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, JUNE 7 - The Director General, Border Roads Organization, Lt. Gen. S. Ravi Shankar, called on the Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan here last evening.
During about one hour meeting, Lt. Gen. Shankar briefed the Governor about the various important road projects being executed by the Border Roads Organization in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that sustained efforts are underway to complete the various projects within the envisaged time schedules.
The Governor while lauding the good work being done by the BRO in developing and maintaining the road network in the difficult and hilly terrain of Jammu and Kashmir to provide road connectivity to the people living in the remote and border areas, emphasized the crucial importance of the various road schemes in the State being completed within a fixed timeframe. He observed that this was vital to opening up unconnected areas for launching economic development programmes.
