JAMMU, NOV 22 : To highlight the burning problems of the state government employees, a meeting of the J&K Workers and Employees Joint Associations Committee(J&K WEJAC) was held here today. According to handout issued by J&K WEJAC, about 500 leaders hailing from various parts of the state participated in the meeting and decided to hold token strike in the state on December 14 for showing solidarity with entire working class of the country in support of their demands. The main demands of the employees are that central government should implement the 6th pay commission simultaneously to the state government employees and also grant Rs.1,000 interim relief to the employees till the outcome of pay commission, restoration of pension scheme for government employees and workers, enhancement of interest rate of GP Fund and on saving schemes, ceiling for income tax should be enhanced to Rs 2 lakh, regularization of temporary workers and employees for bringing uniformity of wages, proper maintenance of GP Fund accounts by state government, grant of 15 per cent dislocation allowance to the employees posted outside the home towns, full pensionary benefits should be granted for 21 years qualifying service , proper medical scheme be introduced , disturbed area allowance be granted at par with central government employees working in the state.
