Bhaderwah emerging as most sought after tourist destination

Udhampur June 7: Bhaderwah, a beautiful place in the lap of Jammu province is emerging as one of the favourite tourist destinations. The hill station is situated in Doda district is 200 kilometers away from Jammu.
After the initiative and developmental measures taken by Bhaderwah development authority created by State government, the number of tourists flocking in the region has increased considerably during past few years.

Bhaderwah is witnessing a heavy rush of tourists for the first time in many years. Due to turmoil in valley from last more than twenty years and day to disturbances the tourists from all over country are now opting Bhaderwah to spent their summer vacation .


The tourists are feeling very god after coming to Bhaderwah. It’s much more beautiful than the spots near Srinagar and other places of Kashmir. There are many things to enjoy. Icy capped peaks, streams, lakes, gardens, and the journey along the gushing River Neeru and Chenab at Bhaderwah are among the main attractions luring the tourists.

Sahil Gupta and Neeraj Bhaderwah, tourist from Jammu said that some time back it was risky and unsafe place due to militancy but now the things has changed and they are eager to go and see the place. It is a very perfect and peaceful place. They added that the place is, particularly for the honeymoon couples, nature lovers, and enthusiasts of adventure sports, skiers and trekkers.


A four-day cultural festival being celebrated by Bhaderwah Development Authority during the month of June every year is also showcasing various tourist destinations in Bhaderwah town, a mountainous hill resort.
The massive tourism development in the area taking place from last few years is not only giving boost to economy of the area and state but also helping in transforming socio-economic condition of the people of the region by creating job opportunities for the unemployed youth said local youth Ritik Chouhan.

The Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) is doing lot to attract more tourist every year and is taking several measures in this regard with the expectation that a large number of tourists may visit during the area particularly during Bhaderwah , which is showcasing culture, heritage and tradition of the mountainous hill resort.
